Apply to be a Lighting Tech
Love lights, haze and a perfectly timed beat drop? You set up and run ATG’s lighting, from uplighting and moving heads to lasers and LED walls, at Mitzvahs, proms, galas and conferences.
What the role is
You’re the person behind the looks. You help set up and run lighting for ATG events, from a room full of uplighting at a gala to moving heads, lasers and haze on a packed Mitzvah dance floor. You work hand in hand with the DJ and MC so every big moment lands.
What an event looks like
- You load in and place the lights, truss and cabling.
- You set up and test the fixtures, the lighting controller and any haze or effects.
- You build the looks for the event with the production lead.
- During the event, you run the lighting for entrances, the hora, special dances and peak dance floor moments.
- You strike and pack every fixture carefully at the end.
What you’ll learn
- ATG’s lighting gear: uplighting, moving heads, lasers, haze and LED walls
- Programming and running lighting for a live event
- Timing your lighting to the music and the MC
- Working side by side with ATG’s DJs, MCs and production crew
Who thrives here
- A real interest in lighting and live production
- Detail-oriented and calm under pressure
- A team player who takes direction well
- Early to every event (right on time is late in this business)
- Experience with lighting consoles or stage lighting is a plus, but ATG trains the right people
What you’ll need
- Saturday availability (most events are on Saturdays)
- Reliable transportation
- Able to lift and carry equipment
Your training path
ATG provides the training and the equipment, plus a great group of people to learn from. The right person doesn’t need experience.
- Apply. It only takes a few minutes.
- Meet the team. A conversation about you, your strengths and your schedule.
- Learn the ATG way. Training on the gear, the systems and how ATG runs an event.
- Shadow real events. Work alongside experienced crew before you’re on your own.
- Take the lead. When you’re ready, you run your part of the event.
